Buy South African Honey, Support Local!

Beekeeping Honey Collective

Welcome to the new Honey Collective website!

The Honey Collective started in 2019 and our startup beekeeping outfit has since blossomed into a small business that continues to show promise in a difficult and uncertain environment.

Beekeeping in South Africa is a tremendously difficult undertaking. While the bees work hard to produce the honey we all love, we work hard to bring the honey to you. Not only is beekeeping costly but it’s also hugely time and labour intensive.

Educating the public about how to buy honey is vitally important. For honey lovers and general consumers alike, sourcing honey from known and established beekeepers, will not only ensure that you are buying legitimate honey but you will also be helping to support the protection of one of the world’s most important pollinators, the honeybee!

We’ve worked hard to establish new apiary sites on the Garden Route that will produce both our core honey varietals including our Eden Multifloral Honey and our flagship Tsitsikamma Fynbos Honey. We encourage you to buy our honey, there’s nothing like it!

The Honey Collective apiary sites are designed as permanent sites where the bees can exist in harmony with the environment with as little interference as possible. The honeybee colonies under our care are not used for commercial pollination services which means they are not subjected to undue stress and the risk of being exposed to commercial pesticides is drastically reduced.

Our aim is to share our beekeeping journey with you and our “Bee Blog” will be used as a resource where we will share beekeeping knowledge, methods, equipment, experiences and upcoming events and products.

We hope that you will join us on this adventure into the world of beekeeping and hopefully learn something along the way!

Check back for updates!
